THE EASY KIND begins its nationwide theatrical tour with a one-night-only stop at Silver Spring, MD’s AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center. Elizabeth Cook and Director Katy Chevigny will be in attendance.
The Nashville establishment tried to position singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook as the latest sweet young thing, but quickly cast her aside when she refused to fit neatly into a marketable box. In this genre-bending narrative debut from acclaimed documentarian Chevigny, Cook plays a fictionalized version of herself, navigating the personal and professional complexities of midlife. Walking away from money troubles, ex-lovers and family tragedies, this vulnerable, soulful and irrefutably ballsy artist forges a path to make music on her own terms.
THE EASY KIND stars Elizabeth Cook, Melissa Jackson, Charles Esten, Karen Allen, Zebedee Row, Drew Morgan, Donal Brophy, Catherine Curtin, Susie Essman, Mary Bacon, Barron Boedecker, and David Letterman. The film is from Big Mouth Productions, in association with Forager Films, Mystic Entertainment, and Love Today Productions, with funding from Catapult and the Boedecker Foundation, and is distributed by Persimmon.
The IFC Center is located at 323 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10014.
